Ottawa winner claims over $9,000

Justin Holland, from Ottawa, took home $9,120 after winning the April 14 Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) Foundation 50/50 draw.

Congratulations to Ottawa resident, Justin Holland, recipient of April’s jackpot prize. Number P-9336212 was the lucky ticket for the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) Foundation 50/50 lottery prize of $9,120 on April 14.

Holland purchases lottery tickets occasionally, and has been supporting SLMHC Foundation for well over a year. He started buying in Sioux Lookout because it had dawned on him that buying in a smaller area is a fun way to play and support the community, while not expecting to get anything back.

When asked about what he would like to do with his winnings, he laughed, saying, “I need a plan for a plan.” His work days are longer, so he doesn’t often find himself planning ahead.

SLMHC Foundation is thankful for the time Holland took to purchase his ticket on March 31, and also, thankful for the generosity of those from other communities, who play to support rural health care.

To learn about how to participate in future lotteries, follow SLMHC on Facebook and Instagram. All lottery proceeds help with the purchase and replacement of necessary hospital equipment.
