Sioux Lookout claims jackpot of $10,150

Jeff Caughill, from Sioux Lookout, took home $10,150 after winning the May 20 Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) Foundation 50/50 draw.

Congratulations to local 50/50 winner, Jeff Caughill! The jackpot of $10,150 will be staying in Sioux Lookout.

Ticket number Q-4838738 was drawn during the May 20 Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) Foundation 50/50 jackpot draw.

Caughill purchased his ticket around 10 p.m. on May 19, the evening before the draw, after noticing a social media post. He was surprised to find out his ticket had the lucky number.

“I think of it as more of a donation, and it was just lucky that I won,” said Caughill.

Caughill and his wife moved to Thunder Bay from London after she completed her education, then moved to Sioux Lookout to pursue her career. They have been residing in Sioux for the past six years.

“We have been loving it ever since,” he said.

The money will likely be put towards renovations.
